Community Outreach

The Lord has led us into a ministry that allows us to meet people at their very area of need.  We have been directly involved in the Newnan area for over two years now.  Our first year we worked to grow a children’s ministry at the Hannah Homes apartments.  This past year we relocated to the Eastgate apartments, continuing with a children’s ministry and it has gone very well.  The parents have been very supportive and have invited us into their homes.

Some of the activities that we have been involved in are as follows:

• A children’s ministry every Sunday evening during the school year

• An angel tree for the kids at Christmas time

• Passing food baskets throughout the apartments

• Passing out love gift bags full of house hold items

• Vacation Bible School for the kids

• Some older kids attended Camp Sonshine at Rockridge last summer

• Many of our adults have had a wonderful experience mentoring children through the Communities in School Mentoring program.

We are currently visiting on Saturdays at 6:00 PM in the Newnan Housing Authority apartments and we are supporting a Saturday morning activity that involves the children in the area coming to the baseball field and playing ball from 9:00 – 12:00.

There has been a core group of about four to five workers since the beginning of this ministry. God is expanding our territory in the East Newnan area and we invite you to join us if God so leads you.

Active ministry speaks volumes about the heart of the church.  When there is a sincere and intimate relationship between us and our Heavenly Father, we begin to see and understand the true desires of His heart.  He leads us into ministries and we gladly become his obedient children, always giving Him the glory because He is the great provider from the beginning until the end.
