"First Connection"
First Connection is your first stop on the path toward meaningful membership. All guests and new members are encouraged to attend this breakfast scheduled twice a year. This is an opportunity to meet the church staff, deacons and learn of the heritage of First Baptist Newnan. The next "First Connection" is scheduled for September 11 at 9:00 AM in the fellowship hall.

Web-based PLACE Workshop
Workshop can be completed in the comfort of your own home
PLACE is an intentional process to connect church members into purpose-driven ministry including self discovery, individualized ministry coaching and tracking from workshop training to ministry placement. Through the PLACE process, people discover that God has created and gifted them with a unique capacity to serve others.
Steps to view the workshop video:

- Click on the tab labeled VIDEO near the top-right of the screen.
- Click on PLACE Workshop Online. (The introduction, each session and chapter should start automatically.)

o Assessments may be taken online, but require a code.
o Come by the church office to receive your workbook and code.
Consists of the following:
- Session 1 - Personality Discovery (19 chapters – 71:30 min)
- Session 2 - Learning Spiritual Gifts (14 chapters – 78:27 min)
- Session 3 - Abilities Awareness (9 chapters – 63:55 min)
- Session 4 - Connecting Passion with Ministry (6 chapters – 32:41 min)
- Session 5 - Experiences of Life (10 chapters – 27:39 min)
- Coaching Session – One-on-one (30 – 45 min)

The PLACE Ministry, through the leadership of the Holy Spirit, will equip and empower church members to serve with joy in the Body of Christ by identifying personalities, Spiritual gifts, abilities, passions, and life experiences.
We are so excited to offer this opportunity to all members who are 18 and above. We hope everyone will participate. If you are a newer member of the church, we would especially encourage you to come be a part of this wonderful new ministry!
Finding your PLACE in Ministry
PLACE is a comprehensive exploration of your own gifts and talents. The combination of teaching, analysis, reflection upon abilities and life experiences, along with individual consultation, will help you connect your passion in life with current ministries at First Baptist Church of Newnan.
P is for Personality Discovery. Participants use our unique assessment to discover their Personality based on the DISC model.
L is for Learning Spiritual Gifts. PLACE promotes a scripture-based 16-gift model using our comprehensive 112-question assessment.
A is for Abilities Awareness. Here, participants complete a unique assessment to discover the most effective environment for them to comfortably serve.
C is for Connecting Passion with Ministry. PLACE's unique curriculum helps Christians identify their passions for ministries and people, and discover how they best demonstrate passion.
E is for Experiences of Life. Especially unique to everyone, this session allows individuals to explore the impact of their past experiences on their purpose in life and their future involvement in ministry.
