East Gate Ministries
Throughout the school year, a group of teachers assist kindergarten, first, and second grade children each Tuesday afternoon with their school work as well as sharing Bible stories and activities. Sunday School classes and families minister to the East Gate children each Tuesday during the Summer with Bible Club and Lunch.
Christian Child Development Center:
Families with children ranging from 6 weeks of age through age 3 have the opportunity for quality, loving, state licensed, Christian child care from 7 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday. The curriculum used for the children is Christian based and integrated into the Georgia’s Early Learning state standards. The First Baptist Christian Child Development Center is housed on the First Baptist Church Campus.
First Baptist Church Preschool:
Families with children ranging from 6 weeks of age through age 4 have the opportunity to experience a half day, quality, loving, Christian preschool program that integrates Christian curriculum and Georgia’s Early Learning state standards. There are several opportunities for attendance during Monday through Thursday.
M.O.Ps:
Mothers of Preschoolers meet every other Friday to encourage mothers of preschoolers throughout our community.
Annual Community Events:
- Easter Egg Hunt at Carl Miller Park is the Saturday before Easter at 10:00 am-all preschool and children are invited to hear the Easter story and enjoy Easter activities and snacks.
- Vacation Bible School is the third week of June and is a highlight of the summer as hundreds of children completing Pre Kindergarten through 5th Grade come to experience fun and fellowship as they learn about Jesus from 8:30 to 12:00.
- Camp Sonshine is Children’s Camp for children completing 1st-5th grades. Camp is always the week after the third Sunday of July. Children enjoy getting to know Jesus through Bible Study, Scripture, Crafts, Music and Recreation while exploring the outdoors and developing long lasting relationships.
- Fall Festival is October 31 from 6 to 8 on the church campus-the community is encouraged to come hear the gospel as they experience a free hot dog supper and Christian based activities along with lots of treats.
