We made it to Boulevard Baptist in Anderson, SC. For our 1st full concert it turned out okay. Only Josh's bow tie gave us fits!!!

We had a swimming party with the youth of Boulevard Baptist following the concert which was good for our students and to meet new folk. The night was short as we had a concert the next morning.

Thanks for all the parents bringing lunch at FBC Newnan before we left. It was great! Everyone is well and I am praying for a moving of God upon our students and me.

See you on Monday.

We had to arrive early at Boulevard Baptist. South Carolina schools are still in session so sleeping in was not an option. The students did a great job at the Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital. The patients really got into the music and we truly sensed that we were used of God. We headed off for Ridgecrest, NC. What an evening for our students hearing a 250 voiced choir (Jubal chorus from GA). L.C. Lane and I both were part of the choir and the students were able to be a part of the massive congregation. They received a complementary special edition of the new Baptist Hymnal. We were lead in worship by Keith and Kristen Getty who composed some of the modern days hymns we sing like, "Power of the Cross," "In Christ Alone," "Speak O Lord." Tonight is a night that our students will remember forever as the worship was tremendous.

Tomorrow we head back south to Greenville.....got to get some sleep. Keep praying for our students and for God's moving in our midst.

Our morning started early as we had a 9:00am sound check for our 10:30am leading in the morning worship.

I think we all were a little nervous having to follow such a moving service the night before. Our students truly rose the occasion as they sang their hearts out. We sang for over 1000 ministers of music from across the nation and we had such a tremendous response. Ministers wanting titles of our anthems, in disbelief of how well a student choir could sound and lead in worship, and seeing our students impact the lives of Ministers as they sang to the King of Kings. It was a moment I will never forget.

We then traveled through Chimney Rock, NC and then to Greenville, SC. We sang at Calvary First Baptist Church (Lee's grandparent's church). It was a great concert. The gospel was shared in song and word and people responded to the moving of the Holy Spirit.

God is so good and is drawing us closer to each other and Himself. Pray for His continued guidance, protection, blessing, and favor for tomorrow.

Blessings.....

Well we arrived in Augusta and it is hot. Yes, summer is here! We sang at Crossbridge Baptist Church which is a fairly new church in the Augusta area. The church had a cook out for us and great attendance for the concert. Our students are really troopers. They are presenting the gospel in excellence of song and our spirit has been good. Tour is always a time to learn about each other and even though you can get on each others nerves with the little things we have been blessed with good behavior.....("Lord, may it continue"!!!!)

Have I mentioned that diesel is almost $5.00 a gallon? We may have to start charging admission prices for our concert or at least a surcharge at the door for "road fees."

God is good and we have sensed His presence this entire trip. Pray for us Thursday as we begin singing at the YDC's. Soli Deo Gloria!

We are getting tired and slap-happy! This afternoon we sang at the Augusta RYDC and were well received by the inmates and the security personnel. This was the third time that FBC Newnan has sung at the Augusta RYDC and hopefully the door will continue to stay open. We shared the gospel in song and in spoken word. We were also able to hand out the goodie bags to the inmates. Thanks to everyone who brought goodie bags. As soon as we mentioned we had brought some they cheered.

We traveled from Augusta to Conyers to stay at the Monastery. This was out of our comfort zone and a new experience for everyone. We turned off our cell phones, kept silent, and even got up for 4:00am & 7:00am prayer vigils. Well the girls got up for the 4:00am and I drug the guys to the 7:00am. We were reminded of how Christ went to be alone with the Father and to escape the hustle and bustle of the crowd and distractions. We focused on 1John, 2John, & 3John as well as Romans 9 & 10 in our quiet time. What an experience!

We started early this morning at the Monastery and traveled to Decatur where we sang at the DeKalb RYDC. This was the 1st time we have ever been able to get into the Atlanta area detention centers. When the gospel message was shared and a response prayer was prayed our students noticed inmates verbally praying the prayer. To God be the glory! We don't know for sure how many accepted Christ today but we know that the Holy Spirit worked in the lives of those there. We did give goodie bags but could not give them to the inmates personally. We could not have any contact with the inmates like we did in Augusta. It just goes to show us that the Holy Spirit is more powerful than anything we can conjure. We can try to manipulate or persuade someone to Christ but it is Christ that "knocks at their hearts."

We then had our secret destination in stopping Merciers Apple Orchard in Blue Ridge to get some apple pies and goodies. We arrived in Blairsville to sing our very well promoted concert at the Old Historic Court House. We had a packed crowd and even met some ken-folk of our members. We met Charles Gardner's sisters who live in Blairsville. It was a great place to sing and the folk there received us well. We left and ate dinner at a local dinner and then off to Antioch Baptist to spend the night in their new Family Life Center. It is beautiful. We played some volleyball and then hit the hay. Pray as we travel tomorrow to Woodstock and sing the National Anthem at the Dixie Speedway. One of our own, Oliver Gentry, has one the championship the past two years there.

Good night and continue with those prayers. Soli Deo Gloria!!!!

Today is free day as we have a "secret destination" to see Narnia: Prince Caspien. It was a great movie! The visuals were superb and the story line coincides greatly with Biblical principles. We then headed off to the Dixie Speedway. That's right.....dirt tracking on a Saturday night in N. Georgia! There's nothing like it! We arrived early (in the scorching sun and heat) to set up for sound check.
The drivers arrived early and they were drying out the track (for those of you who've never been dirt tracking that means that they have watered down the track all day long and are now driving some beat up chevys around and around and around to dry out the red Georgia clay). We had the honor of singing the National Anthem and I was honored in leading the invocation for Dr. Johnny Hunt, Pastor of FBC Woodstock and our new SBC President. Oliver Gentry, one of our very own FBC members is a regular at Dixie Speedway. When I say "regular" I mean regular winner of races. Oliver won the championship in the Limited Late Model series last year, has one the past two weeks, and is #1 in points for 2008. As Oliver and crew pulled for the race we were able to take a couple of photos with the group. We could not stay for the main events of the evening but were able to catch the heats (qualifying races) and hot laps (warm-ups). Oliver finished 2nd that night. We now head to FBC Conyers to lead in both Sunday morning services.

We arrived early to sing at the 8:30am & 11:00am services at FBC Conyers. John Link is the Minister of Music and was such a gracious host. Both services went very well and the church fed us lunch at Bojangles...it was goooooood! We then had a "secret destination" at the local bowling alley. We had a great time seeing who could bowl the worst.....at least it seemed that way. We arrived at FBC Newnan for our home concert and we were welcomed with a host of familiar faces that we longed to see. We had a great tour and I thank God that everyone arrived home safely. I am so proud of our students; how they behaved at host homes, churches, detention centers, restaurants, everywhere. They were so respectful of each other and those whom they came into contact with. They sang their hearts out and I know that in heaven one day we will see familiar faces because of the impact of Christ through our song and testimony.

I want to thank each parent for their encouragement and the investment of their child in the discipleship of song and scripture in memorization. I love our student choirs, I love our student choirs, I love our student choirs! I want to thank our church for her support of Music & Missions, and carrying the message of Christ and His hope to a lost world. Have a great summer and get ready for Tokyo, Japan 2009!!!!!!!!!
