Children

Children are a gift of the Lord! Jesus himself cherished children and blessed them, saying in Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” We believe that God has given parents the primary responsibility and privilege of bringing up children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:4; Deut. 6:4-9). It is the desire of our Children’s Ministry to partner with each parent to effectively teach children about Christ’s love and move them toward a personal relationship with Jesus.

Sunday School | 9:40 AM - 10:40 AM

Each Sunday following Sunday School, preschoolers remain in their classrooms to worship together for an Extended Session during the 10:50 Adult Worship Service. Preschool Worship during the Extended Session Hour provides a media-driven, interactive worship experience for preschoolers.

Children in grades 1st -5th grade should be picked up from Sunday School and will be dismissed from the church service at a designated time in the service. With the help of our many volunteers, the children are lead to room 227B, where they will experience Children’s Worship that provides a media-driven, interactive worship experience.

Includes:

  • Worship songs
  • Music videos
  • Scripture memory verses
  • Weekly missions emphasis

Security & Check-In

At First Baptist Church Newnan, nothing is more important to us than the safety and security of your children. That’s why we’ve chosen Checkpoint as our children’s check-in solution to bring you the best check-in experience and to allow us to partner with you to keep your children safe. We also want our visitors to feel welcome and that their children are safe with across-the-board security measures.

First Baptist Church’s full-time ministry staff and all volunteers who work with our children have been trained through the “Ministry Safe (c)” program. This badge indicates that FBCN has taken proactive steps to train staff members and volunteers to address the risk of child sexual abuse in ministry programming. In any child-serving context, training is the first step in any effort to protect children from sexual abuse.

Wednesday Nights

Chimes for Christ | 4:15pm-5:00pm
Chimes for Christ is a beginning hand-chime group where children learn melody, group ringing, treble and bass clef comprehension, dynamics, and rhythm while developing a strong musical foundation. Guided by adult and youth leaders, rehearsals include hands-on activities, musical learning, and scripture-based songs that help participants grow both musically and spiritually. For older students in grades 6–8, Revelation Handbells continues this training with a focus on handbell technique, ensemble skills, and deeper music theory.

Children’s Choirs | 5:30pm-6:15pm
Each Wednesday evening from 5:30–6:15pm, choirs gather following our church-wide supper at 4:45pm. They present two major programs each year—one at Christmas and another before school dismisses for summer—and also have opportunities to lead in Worship services throughout the year. Every rehearsal is led by at least two adult and youth leaders who incorporate hands-on activities, musical learning, and scripture song memorization to build both musical skills and biblical knowledge.

Missions | 6:15pm- 7:00pm
Mission Friends is the mission organization for preschool children who are 3, 4, and 5 years of age. The preschool children become aware of God’s love and learn that others need to hear about this good news! They are involved in learning, praying, giving and doing missions.
