Impact Spring Schedule 2012

JANUARY

18th – BEYOND ALL MEASURE BAND

25Th – JACOB DAVIS BAND

FEBRUARY      Treasure Seekers - A 4-WEEK BIBLE STUDY ON A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS

This four-week series is created to help your students discover the rich value of having a personal relationship with God. The series is built around short parables Jesus taught about two men who found treasures and sold everything they had to acquire these valuable things. Your teenagers will be encouraged to understand that their relationship with God is the best “treasure” they can have. Our culture encourages young people—and adults—to pursue such things as popularity, fame, wealth, and success. But chasing these things instead of pursuing God ultimately will not satisfy our deepest needs.

Lessons include:

Week 1 – Feb 1st: Searching for True Riches (Matthew 13:44-46)

 Week 2: Feb 8th  Paying the Price—Because There’s Always a Cost (Mark 8:34-38) & ” RADICAL BAND”

 Week 3 – Feb 15th : Recognizing Real Value (Philippians 3:7-9)

Week 4 Feb .29th : Experiencing the Richest Benefits (Matthew 6:19-21)

MARCH   Scandalous - A 4-WEEK SMALL GROUP CURRICULUM ON HOW JESUS SHOOK UP THE STATUS QUO

Jesus rattled the status quo as he ministered to people. His words and actions challenged his followers to see the world differently—he challenged them to see the world from God’s perspective. This series offers your students a similar challenge. They’ll be encouraged to evaluate their views on race, status, gender, and religious activity. Jesus shook up his world in all four of those areas and calls us to continue doing the same today.

This study will awaken students to four deep truths about God and their subsequent implications for how teenagers are living. These are not exhaustive studies on these subjects, nor will they answer every question, but they will get students to begin to think about God and themselves in ways they don’t normally do.

Lessons include:

    Week 1 – Mar .7: Be Colorblind (Luke 10:30-37)

    Week 2 Mar.14 : Ignore Labels (Matthew 9:9-13)

Week 3 – Mar.21: Value Men and Women Equally (Luke 8:1-3)

Week 4 – Mar.28: Focus on Relationship, not Rules and Rituals (Mark 7:1-23)

APRIL      Different - A 3-WEEK BIBLE STUDY ON BEING DIFFERENT

If you have been around church long enough you probably have heard someone say, “We are called to be different from the world,” or “If we don't tell people about Christ, how will they ever know we are different?” That can be a big concept to grasp. Sure, we are supposed to be different, but what does being different mean? What does it look like? And if we are supposed to be different, how do we live in the world? This three-week small group study aims to help students answer those questions.

Lesson include:

Apr. 11 -  Different from the World (Colossians 2:20-23)

Apr. 18 -  More than Words (Matthew 5:13-16)

Apr. 25 -   Equal Words, Equal Action (Matthew 7:21-23)
