Grief Care Ministry
Losing a spouse is one of the hardest things anyone will ever face; it turns your whole world upside down. But loss isn’t confined to a spouse, and one loss isn’t bigger than another. The common element to grief is that many people feel completely alone. That’s why we created Grief Care at FBC Newnan. It’s a ministry built on one simple truth: people need people—especially in seasons of deep loss. Grief Care exists to offer comfort, care, and hope to those who have lost a family member because we believe God never meant for individuals to go through grief alone. We walk beside them with encouragement, prayer, practical help, and the love of Jesus. Sometimes it’s through a thoughtful note. Sometimes it’s delivering a gift bag full of helpful resources. Sometimes it’s just showing up and being present.
If you’re looking for a way to make a real difference—Grief Care is a great place to start. You don’t need special training. You just need a tender heart and a willingness to love people who are hurting. Every visit, every prayer, every kind word matters. God uses it all. Call the church office to volunteer.
n addition, we partner with the nationally recognized, Grief Share, to periodically offer groups at church to help the grieving build a larger community of support. More details available here. This is a great outreach to community members who have lost a loved one. GriefShare groups will be announced in FBC publications or call the church office (770-253-0797).
Grief Care is a vital part of our vision—bringing Life in Christ to Every Generation. God is doing amazing things through this ministry, and we’d love for you to be part of it.
