Big Idea: Do not ever underestimate the eternal impact of quiet invitations.
1: The Motivation for Invitation
John 1:40-42
“Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, ‘You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas’ (which, when translated, is Peter).”
Love must be the driving force behind true evangelism.
Henry Blackaby “If you have an obedience problem, you have a love problem. Because when you love Him, you will obey Him.”
2 Corinthians 5:14-15, where he writes, “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.”
Without love, evangelism becomes hollow; with love, it becomes unstoppable.

2. The Expectation of Invitation
John 6:8-9
“Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, ‘Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?’”
Ephesians 3:20 “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”
The odds don’t matter when Jesus is involved.
The modern church has no excuse to live like a faithless generation.

3. The Implication of Invitation
John 12:20-22
“Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at the festival. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with a request. ‘Sir,’ they said, ‘we would like to see Jesus.’ Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus.”
Revelation 7:9: “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.”
The Challenge
We must not allow our traditions, biases and preferences to be barriers for people to meet Jesus!
