Scripture: 1 John :1-4

***Big Idea: Anchor yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ!

1. Anchored by the Incarnation

1 John 1:1: “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched— this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.” (NIV)

The incarnation is the bridge that connects a holy God to a broken humanity. Because Jesus took on flesh, He understands you. He knows your anxiety, your loneliness and your pain.

Hebrews 4:15-16 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

2. Anchored through Lordship

1 John 1:2 “The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.”

Jesus is not just a Savior; He’s a King, the One who has the rightful authority to direct our paths because He laid down His life and rose again.

Jesus is not just a King issuing commands — He’s the one standing in the gap for us, pleading our case before the Father.

3. Anchored in Joyful Fellowship

1 John 1:3-4 (NIV): “We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.”

Joy is rooted in the unchanging reality that you are reconciled to God, loved by the Father and redeemed by Jesus Christ.

There is no greater satisfaction than seeing hearts healed, relationships restored and communities impacted by the love of Christ.
